I have heard that people are drilling holes into their wheels before adding the foam and tyres on.
Is thill beneficial at all and if so why? |

It s to stop air getting trapped inside the tyre so that the tyre can move and bounce etc.
As you can tell im not the best person at explaining stuff. Basically do it only need something like two 5mm holes in each side. A

The foam is your air, it has to escape somewhere.
Most wheels you buy already have them drilled for you.

A point to make is that the size of the hole can affect the volume of the air that can pass in and out. This can consequently give different characteristics of grip.

Often a good idea to punch tyres too, if youre running in wet conditions and the foam insert gets wet, it will dry more through centrifugal force pushing water out of the tyre holes.
