I have them on my 511. Shocks are butter smooth with the Tamiya option pistons I installed with them.
Smoother than factory gunmetal shock bodies and standard pistons?... I have no idea.

The HL cylinders are in fact smoother than the stock cylinders. Now, are they worth the money and will you be able to notice them? Unless you are a World Champion, probably not. These pieces are a luxury item at best. If you have the cash burning, then why not. You know what they say; every little thing adds up to a big thing.
It would be like maybe the TRF bearings and reinforced belts, and high traction arms don't do much on their own, but once you do upgrade all of those aspects at the same time, you will notice an overall difference in the chassis dynamics. What parts are currently on your chassis? Maybe there is a better area you can spend the money on.

Can't say I have ever noticed a difference, they look bling though so I'm all in favour, use them on mine!
Thread hijack time, anyone spent the money on the trf bearings, what are they like? Can't say as I've noticed a problem with the standard ones!

OT:
The reinforced drive belts are so much better the original ones. May not make any difference in performance, but in less maintenance. Don´t stretch out as easy. I´ve used the same pulleys and belts all season. I agree that the HL cylinders are a luxury item. Probably the bearings too. I have not compared the 501X arms and 511 (high traction) arms. Maybe the db01 "standard" plastic arms are just as good if you want more flex? On the other hand, the drive belts and arms are not so expensive.

They offer more setting possibilities.
You can use shims to adjust/remove the slop. I also put some some anti-wear grease on the suspension shafts.

Wow, I never knew about these! My local hobby shop carries some 100T & higher RW 64p spur gears for touring cars. Looks like the only online store that carries these is The Border and at a premium price shipped to the USA!
 I hear you though... Tamiya and Associated spurs are all oval!
