Hi all,
Can anyone tell me whether the Kyosho RB5 pistons/damper shafts are a direct match in diameter/length to that of any other manufacturer? Cheers, Stanners |

Not that I know of, they're 3mm shafts so tamiya/yokomo (not big bores) shafts will fit the shocks.
Length wise the front are 46mm and the rears on the RB5 you should be using the 54mm (ref W5183-02). Not sure what the tamiya/yokomo are. Tamiya pistons will fit the shafts with shimming as the K pistons are quite thick. If you go for tamiya, the pistons themselves are .1mm smaller in diameter so you'll have less pack for the same holes size. Out of curiosity, why would you want to change pistons/shafts ? In my own experience the Kyosho shocks are probably the best on the market. |

I've only just bought the car, but was wondering about fitting Kyosho dampers to other cars as i'm nothing but totally impressed by them.
I could just do with the shafts being a little longer, and wondered whether i could fit a longer shaft from another manufacturer, to these Kyosho dampers. Or....whether Kyosho do longer shafts themselves? that would be even better ![]() |

Only for the rear, as I said on the RB5 you should be using the 54mm shafts (4mm longer than the rear).
At the front they are 42mm and as far as I know there aren't any other shafts available. I know I've been trying to get hold of some. |
