Default brushless blackfoot

i have just fitted a 3.5 turn brushless setup in my blackfoot but its not going as planned, it hardly moves off and is real slow. the battery terminals are getting really hot almost instantly, they are the tamiya ones.
as i go for give it some beans the esc makes a really high hum sound. and then the battery dies, its a 3700mah. the combo in question is a losi xceleron s .
i have just took out a speed passion inspire 17 turn brushless combo which had no problems at all. so could this problem be down to standard battery terminals that cant give the power the motor needs? thanks

Right then, the Tamiya connectors can't handle anywhere near the power you're trying to put through them, they will melt and create havoc. The Losi connectors look good, but not sure what they are exactly. Deans or similar would be a good bet.

Cheap welded nimh stick packs (if thats what you're using) with weedy wires - again probably won't be able to provide the juice needed. Something might well give up. A decent lipo pack with quality connectors pre-wired would be better able to cope but you'll need a lipo charger of course.

3.5 motor is more than I'd ever use. I did try a mamba max setup with 11.1v lipo - probably somewhere comparable to the motor you're trying to use and my blackfoot was absolutely uncontrolable. I mean, not even funny - it couldn't even get to half throttle it was so insane. That 3.5 really isn't suited to the blackfoot at all - try a 10.5, should be plenty fast enough and then some.

thanks, yes it is a stick battery at the minute. so that will be changed soon. i have custom built my blackfoot its not using the chassis it came with, its using a 4wd touring car chassis with the blackfoots extended wishbones etc. i will get the connectors and wiring changed for some beefier stuff. i really want it to be stupid
