Default Novak Brushless 6.5R B4 Gearing Issue

I have just purchased a second hand Novak Brushless 6.5R for my B4.

The novak manual recommends a 17-18 pinion for a 81 spur in a B4. I was thinking of the 17 due to the fact ti is a smaller track with many tight turns.

However I have read in a few places that in the B4 that this does not fit and you have to use a different spur.

Is this the case and what set-ups do other people have?

Thanks

I use 23/81 all the time with a 6.5L Novak.
Bill uses 23/81 on his 7.5R.
I posted a post a week ago about gearing for a 6.5 and nearly everyone said to start on a 23

I am using 18/81.

I was using an xcelorin speedo with a 6.5T Losi, now I've got a Novak GTB, with a Novak velocity 6.5.

Acceleration is fantastic, and top end is more than I can handle. I'm only driving for fun though, not racing . The speedo is staying very cool.

In the manual of the Novak GTB ESC, it does mention 18/81 as a good starting point for a B4 too.

just remember that the manual set up is based on a dirt track loose grip set up,i would have said 1 or 2 teeth higher for UK,
