Great post Carl, and a very credible effort from your wife.
I'll be doing the race for all this year along with my best friend and a few work colleagues. The race entry goes to Jane Tomlinsons charities I believe, although I think participants can nominate a charity of their choice for sponsorship. Is this the same race? I get mixed up with the names being so similar.

similar thing i think all the donations from Linda's goes to cancer research,
it a thing close to her and my heart as she lost her dad to cancer at 50 years young, some 10 years ago
and as you know we lost a close friend aged 40ish to the same thing
i know Ann will thank me for not posting her age lol
missed but never forgot.

My wife and her sister do the same race. Excellent reason to go for a run, the turnout here in wales for this is amazing. All my sponsor money goes to these two, but come on every one dig deep, its a very good cause!!
Good luck to you, hope she does well with sponsors!!

Why don't we organize a race for charity at Batley Buggy Club, only an actual RC race, do it on a Wednesday night, all proceeds go towards one of these charities? At the same time we can clear the track up and wear it in

yeah, sounds good, anyone up for organising this?

I like the sound of an endurance race, maybe like 24 hours, each driver could get as many sponsors as he could.

Then you could have teams of 5 or 6, who just race for as long as they can.

Can we do this, please? It would be great for charity.... Maybe saturday night or somthing , 24 hour

if you impose a motor limit to say mabuchi 540 you are going to get longer run times too so people can have longer stints ...appreciate this isnt going to make them particulalry fast though
