It's ok, but im not the biggest fan. I prefer obstacles that dont cause random behaviour to the car. If you are a club memeber and race there week in week out then you will inevitably master it, for the others then they will just get frustrated.

The first jump isnt as bad as it was, but still a little random every now and then. The tripple is a tricky little bugger. Standing on ground level near the jump you can see the line to take, but even then it gets a little random at times.

Overall its a great track, but i think you might hear a few moans and groans about the new features come the national

I have to aggree Wayne, it does need practice, I suspect there will be some moans.

I went down there a couple of weeks ago on a friday afternoon and just ran over, and over, and over the jumps, for me personally it's now fine.

I'd not have liked to have turned up for the national without being able to practice berfore however, I think I'd have been one of the moaners.

I'll be hovering around the new areas this summer with the camera, should get some good crash pictures.

What I find amazing is that some people go to Bury Metro during the week, I know now how my fence is getting damaged. It is really easy if you all ask me or Dad to come down as we live 2 mins away with a key so no body damages my fence.
Regards the jumps, I was told to change due to a certain person went to the BRCA and put a conplaint in regarding that you could jump the fence if you really wanted to. Big question to him, what about the bank at the end of the straight, the big banked corner????
What about other tracks? Kiddy etc.
My club has spent alot of time and effort keeping this track going, where is the respect. Should of come to the club first and made your coments aired there.
Thats it rant over. Please Please when you go down to the track ask first and we can get a key to you.

I think the jump at the back is really good now Stu, it can be taken fast as a proper double or slower (ie like me), landing on the 'table-top' and hopping down. I'm not saying there are non but I have not spoken to a local driver who does not think it's now sorted.

The safety issue, well, you are right - we've seen cars jump the fence at the end of the straight next to the ex-jym, it's potentially a faster and more dangerous spot than the start of the back straight, allthough it's not a place that people generally stand to spectate.

The fence - point taken on board.
It has to be said though that I can jump (thats me with legs, not car) over it with tranny in hand, I suspect it's the scrotes with BMX's and paint cans that do the damage.

Pictures will not help much Brian, you'll see the differernce when you run a car over it.

The up-slope is more consistant and the second hump is now a broad table top, so it's not do-or-die.

There are also three small jumps just before the astro banking, they are well spaced to make it a single & double, or it can be three singles.

Well the only way not to get random behaviour is by racing on a flat track with wooden boards as ramps. Batley has random behaviour, as does Kidderminster and Southport certainly does more than most but this doesn't make them bad tracks, far from it infact.... you are aware this is off-road right?

Don't have to be a club member to come regular , but it doesn't take weeks to learn the features - shouldn't take more than a few practice laps really.... If you feel an advantage is to be had by practicing, you are correct, but same goes for any track does it not? Wayne - come and practice!

I have run only about 3 packs of cells around Bury with the new features, and find all the features great fun to get right, do-able with some effort (easy is boring afterall) and do-able accross the broad section where the racing line should be - also off-line too, but if off-line then chances are its for a reason (mistake) and so shouldn't be carrying any speed to launch off a ramp into randomness anyway.

As for safety... well, like Woody said... there are mountains and there are mole hills, lets not confuse them.

Woody, are you doing 2wd? if so I'll do the same.

The new jumps have added fresh interest to an already excellent track. The club has spent considerable money, time and effort in an attempt to freshen things up, and my advice is come up and try the new features for yourselves.

The double / table top after the block paved horse-shoe is much more driver friendly now, although it can still catch you out. The triple at the end of the back straight is a challenge - the quick line over them will vary depending on which track layout is chosen immediately after them (obviously ). Danny McGee was making them look very easy at the last meeting.
