Question Why's it going backwards?!

Right, I'm hoping its just been a long week and I'm being dense....

I have finished putting the electrics in my new Cat S1 at long last, but for some reason its running in reverse. My first instinct was to reverse the direction of the Tx, but that obviously just makes forward become brake, and backwards become acceleration, which is still backwards!! So i changed that back...

The Novak GTB was bought 2nd hand and has been reset, with forward and brake now calibrated with the Tx. I bought the speed passion brushless motor 2nd hand too.... is there any way it could have been incorrectly wired to go in reverse, or is there a way to reverse the direction of a sensored brushless motor?

Very annoying - hopefully someone has a quick fix! Cheers

Before you do that.......

The Novak GTB is a sensored system

Make sure you have the wires correct from the motor to the speedo.

Wire A to wire A etc. (Marked on the side of the speedo and the motor.)

Pretty sure it was wired correctly but will check again later on. Is the wire swap suggested above only for sensorless systems then?

It is normal to switch any two wires on a sensorless system to reverse the direction. This shouldn't be done on the GTB, if nothing else because of the timing on the sensor position.

I don't know if a GTB will run backwards (not very well) by swapping the wires over, so worth checking if yours is simply wired up wrong, like said check the A, B and C phases are wired up correctly as labeled on the ESC and motor.
