Default Any need to discharge GTB capacitor?

The title is not totally clear so:

When I turn off my GTB and disconnect the Lipo. The + and - power leads from the speedo can (and have) touched together. I run corally connectors and with the capacitor being charged, will this cause any damage to the speedo?

I'm getting into the habit of turning the speedo back on (without the Lipo connected) to discharge the capacitor, to prevent any accidental damage.

Any comments??
