Are you running LiPo or proper cells?

If Lipo Fab is your man, if cells PM an e-mail.

Set-up sheet too big to post up here!

The set-up on Petit is one of mine, very early in terms of development for the car. Twichiness was down to tires, much improved on a safer tire choice.

Now I generally run 30wt AE oil in the rear and the shortest, most inclided possible front link. Rear link running with 2mm under inside ball stud. All other parts same as that one on Petit. Also works well on grass / multisurface. A great starting point so long as you like loads of steering .... if not trim the tires rather than upset the handling balance!

As for gearing ... 5.5 Orion on a 21/kit spur or Novak 6.5L on a 23/kit spur

I don't run Lipo in my ZX5...

What I'll do is send my PDF to Arn0 and it'll be soon on Petit RC.

Several drivers commented on how good my car was last week end at Ozfest, and event though it was on grass I hadn't changed much from Tallywain.

PaulC .... if you mean you have LiPo and that is what your using then I'd recomend bringing the car back up to full weight with lead under the LiPos.

As with most cars around today the FS was design around NiMh and thus the weight distribution with proper cells in mind.

I've driven an FS with my base set-up on but running LiPo and it was VERY loose on the rear. I put my NiMh back in and it was back to being it's super smooth, perfectly balanced self!

I am sure that people will eventualy get set-ups around LiPos, just not quite yet for grass / astro tracks (not seen any so far at any rate).

To try and improve the balance I would do the following;

down 5-10 wt in the rear oil

move to the inboard rear camber link mounting on the bulkhead and put enough packing under the ball stud to run the link parallel to the rear wishbones (might need to run a ball stud with slightly longer threaded section to avoid pulling it out)

down a rear spring grade (probably start with #65 yellows, possibly #60 dark yellow / orange)
maybe shorten the wheelbase a fraction.
