Default how good to race at the nationals?

hi everybody,1st of all great website/forum jimmy.
i've only been racing 4wd off-road for about 10 months.i'd love to have a go at a national event later in the year, but am unsure of how good you have to be to compete? i have an f4 license grade for this year. do f1 and f2 drivers have prority for entries? how does it work?
i have done a couple of meetings this year and have out qualified and beatin f2+f3 drivers.
any help and advice is more than welcome, many thanks.

By the sound of it you are more then capable to race at a national, I currently have a F5 grade, and I have applied for 4 nationals this year! If you intend of racing you can find an entry form here http://www.onetenthoffroad.co.uk/. Regarding the F grades the higher your grade the more likely you are of getting a placement at the event, however racers from all grades do race at these events!

Hope this helps a little!

There is a control tyre in use at each national; this gives all racers an equal chance of doing well. The tyre you can use are listed on the form. However it is an open choice for front tyres!

The best thing to do for anyones first year of nationals, is enter as many as you feel like doing, don't go with the "I want to win" attitude but do go with the "I want to enjoy this" attitude and then through your first year you'll pick up on everything and have complete understanding, so son't stress over the rules, just relax, listen and so long as you turn up ready then there will be plenty of guidance once there (and here beforehand) - then year 2, aim for a higher than year 1.

There is one major unwritten rule though - which is to enjoy yourself!

thanks guys,i did our regionals last year and really enjoy'd them, but the only time i got to run my buggy was at those meetings.i have been doing a few meetings over the winter, at outdoor venues to try and get it going better, and as the buggy's got better ive enjoyed it even more, everyone is prepared to be helpful, and generally approachable, and ive actually learnt that going a bit slower will result in better qualifying times !!
think i'll definately try a national or two this year if i can get in. thanks for the tips kev and chris.

Well if you can find the entry form, it is all detailed on it, its quite self explanatory. Have you found it to print it?

Oi you! I'm not that bad. Well yes I am, but that's beside the point, which is that applying for 6 nationals is completely different to getting a place to race at nationals!
