Default reedy neo1 brushless motor

will a neo1 run with a non-sensored speed controller or does it require sensor technology?

You can run all sensored motors with sensorless controllers, you just can't plug in the sensor wires. On some motors the sensor harness is removable anyway, on others you'll just have to zip tie it out of the way.
