Default How to run B4 front wheels on a XXXCR

Having just changed from a B4, I didn't fancy buying a load of new wheels and swapping tyres over, so I thought I'd try fitting them to the CR.
Hopefully this might be of use to anyone else being put off changing to the Losi.
You need B4 parts 9581 and 1585 (the steering block and front axle), some spacers and two suitable kingpins that will take e-clips.
I found two in my pitbox that were approx 3.2mm, but have since found that the rear kinpins from a Tamiya TA05 will fit (part no 9805682) they are only 3mm.
Using the appropriate size drill bit you can enlarge the holes in the steering block and castor block so that the new kingpin will fit. I used the white Associated spacers to stop the steering block moving up and down (2 above and 1 below) and another to take up the slack on the kingpin itself.

Hey presto, B4 wheels fit a treat! I ran it at the national at Talywain without fault and it's fine. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but I couldn't see a guide on here. Hope that this is of help to someone!

The angles and offset don't seem to have changed, but if I get chance this weekend I'll change it back to standard and take some measurements
It certainly ran well on Saturday.

Nice post!

I'm tempted to see if I can go the other way because I prefer the way the Losi wheels don't need bearings...

it is a bugger on the B4, as you lose any axle height adjustment.
