I'm shopping on eBay for a decent second hand servo to launch my 1/10 4wd career with (will be getting a Cat). Needs to be something robust and torquey.
I'll be using a normal (non HRS) 40mhz FM receiver, so does that mean digital is pointless (or not even possible?). Have seen recommendations for Ace 1015, KO2413 and Futaba 9551 which I should be able to pick up second hand, but believe they're all digital. Am i best to get a decent analogue one? Any suggestions? Before i went to spektrum i did have a digital servo 2343 KO and sometimes it took a couple of attempts on the switch to get it working. I went back to my 2123's and didn't have any issues. Im not sure if my problem was isolated though.

There is no technical reason why a digital servo shouldn't work with standard radio - I've been using digital servos (Futaba) with my standard radio (also Futaba) for ages without a single problem, and I imagine most people have found the same.
The only difference between a digital servo and an analogue one is a little chip in the case. |

Ok cool so I'll probably get digital in case I upgrade my radio gear later. The ace servo seems good value.. Is it too big to go in a cat though? Am concerned as I'll be using a novak gtb which has a big footprint too...

Its standard size, same as a Futaba 3001. Though it is quite a lot heavier. I use one in my B4 and it fits fine, but it is like adding noseweight!
