Sorry to do this as I dislike 'this v that' threads as much as anyone...but, the next upgrade on my list is an ESC and I have narrowed the options down to two. The Nosram Matrix Evo or the Mtronics IP6. I am thinking to stick with brushed in the future and just wanted peoples opinions and experiences with these controllers. Is the Nosram worth the extra? Easy to use (for a newbie)? Any other comments and advisements greatly appreciated.

Local company M-tronics is, good service you will get.
Big international name Nosram is, more developed product you will receive. Partnership with LRP advances product always. Buy where you feel The Force is strong. |

I have raced both these speedos and regards to Nosram, it is a very nice and reliable unit. Small, light weight, pritty and a lifetime guarentee. The IP6 on the other hand is the best speedo I have ever had. This is not because I am sponsored by them, Its because its true. Yes you do have to have the power cap in, and have 2 shotty's on the motor but this will not matter when you drive it. The first thing I noticed when on the track is that the unit makes it feel like you have got brand new batteries in, even with 12 month old 1s. The brakes are another thing, much better than anything else. It is very smooth for the throttle and it never gets hot. ITs even easy to wire in. 3 pins ontop of the unit instead of on the side into the board. If any one wants to try 1 which I am at the meeting then please speak to me and you will be amazed

I do have to say, the service from mtroniks is , in my experience, unparalleled. A quick phone call and "can I pop it in for you to take a look at", and on arrival at their door, no questions asked a replacement is given. No arguments there then
![]() I now own the Nosram Matrix evo, and so far I like it (enough to order a second one for the 4wd). If only Keyence made a brushless controller............ ![]() ![]()

Thanks guys. I always like to support the little guy and I read some of the favourable things posted about the IP6 before so it looks sorted. Cheers for the input.

Nosram all the way the advantage of the matrix is if brushless takes over you have the ultimate system that is only matched by the LRP version. I have had a bad exsperiance with mtroniks service they refused to replace it when it wasnt even my fault so i bought a new one and that blew up to. But the service at mirage is awsome i sent my domi away the monday the next tuesday arrived a brand new one.

8 days, over a week. Thats not that awesome.
Ive ran 3 nosram speedos and they are all very good, and none have let me down. Wires are easy to replace and the dominator doesnt even get hot indoors with a 12t. But TBH, unless you have run both its hard to give an honest opinion. |

If you have no problems with a product the support is not that important, just a thought

every single MTronkis speedo i owned broke, in its own 'special' and annoyin way, so i gave up trying them. i hav seen 4 MTroniks speedos blow up at our club in the last few weeks. I have now bought a Matrix Evo. it is fabulous. the brakes are much better, the power is better, no maintenance brushless is good [coz im lazy ![]() if yoo want quality, nosram all the way! ![]() but if yoo want sumthin that will break before the year is up, MTroniks are there for yoo. sorry to rip on them like this, but, well, this is my MTroniks experience |

This is a completley unbiased opinion...
I've never run the Mtroniks, not since the days of the Little silver 2000 thingy. I've only recently gone to the brushless set-up and I've found it an easy transition. The Nosram Matrix speedo allows a seamless transistion beteween brushed/brushless. So you have the best of both ways covered whichever beomes the best option in the next few months/years. I'm not sure the IP6 allows this... please correct me if I'm wrong... The Matrix also allows you to check temperature after the run. which is really useful to check whether or not the gearing/speedo set-up is right. Talking of set-up you can tune in the Nosram to just how you want your brushless to feel. The standard set-up is pretty close, there's more in there if you want it... As I found at York by wheelying off the line in rounds 3&4... I've never done that before.......... Add to that the lifetime guarantee... Not that I've ever needed to use it in 5 years of running them. I still have my first dominator.... If you are gonna run brushless. Make sure you use silicone sealant to seal the wires into the connectors in the sensor lead. But the choice is yours..As other people have said. If you're happy with what you have the service may not be important... Also Nosram are World Champions in the very capable thumbs of Mr 'Dub C' Cragg. Unbiased opinion over.....

o.k. I don't own and havn't run either of these speedo's so therefore have no personal experience of either. MTronics have had an extremely poor reliability record in the past (if it blew up, it was probably MTronic...) and I've only heard good things about their customer service (sounds like they had alot of experience to get it right)
However, everyone that I've spoken to who runs MTronics these days (admittedly most are sponsored by them in some way) say that the new IP6 is 100% reliable and a superb unit as well. Still, I'm gonna buy LRP next ![]()
