Default New motor 19x2 for DI still @#{%!!! HOT!!

First when I bought my DI. I used a Vision 14x2 motor for it. Well, it didn't last long and it became very hot just after a few minutes. So I bought a new motor, also a Nosram Vision but this time a 19x2. I tried it first with 26/81 gearing. Okey, it went fine for a few minutes. Then it started to get hot, hotter and hotter...So I let it cool down for a while and changed the gearing to 26/85. Well, I tried that after the motor had cooled down. BUT! Still it gets very hot ! First I thought it was something in the transmission wich didn't was allright. So I checked the diffs, gears, bearings etc. I found nothing that could be the reason because the motor get so hot. I also opened the motor to see that nothing was wrong, well, I found no probs there either. So what should I do? I have asked people who also drive a DI and they use also a 19T motor and STOCK gearing (26/75 I think) and no problems with overheating What do you thinkg the problem is?

mine also gets very very hot. I started with 19 turn motors which got insanely hot so i thought it was my speedo. now i have brushless in it which also gets hot but no hotter than a 19 turn. Gearing too low seems to make it hotter (over reving probably). Seems fine for a five minute race though, i just make sure i take it off and let it cool till the next race. Sucks if you want it for long bashing sessions considering this car is more of a basher than a racer.

the heat sink kit may help a little, or get the fonz to drive it he will run it cool

The heat sink kit does help.I ran mine with a 13x2motor a few weeks back with no major probs(a bit warmish) at 26/85.Just popped in my new checkpoint 19turn spec and 23t pinion and all seems well.Very nippy too
