Default lipo cut off?

i am just trying to figure a few things out how do lipo cut offs fit and is there any i should avoid? as i need one for my sons car asap

also where is the best place to get one from?

They fit in between the Rx and speed controller, and also monitor the battery voltage, either the whole pack voltage, or each cell via the balance connector. When they detect the battery/cell voltage is too low, they ignore your throttle input and send a 'neutral' signal to the ESC instead to stop the motor and prevent the battery discharging further.
I've seen them often listed in online shops that do electric planes/helis as well as cars.

I have a Novak smart-stop (2 cell), cost about £25, and has worked flawlessly so far for me.

I think mine came either from Demon power products or Microtech racing, but many shops stock them I'm sure.

you need the 2cell model NE5470

you solder the black and red wires to the battery wires on the speedo then plug the speedo into the smart stop, then the smart stop into the reciever.
