Question KO servo power problem

Ive got a KO PDS-2344FET servo running from a micro spektrum powered by a Nosram brushless ESC and had no problems at all but now I'm running a 20t motor I want to swap to a normal brushed esc. The problem is that Ive tried two different Mtronics esc's and an LRP runner reverse and with all three the servo is glitching and sometimes it cuts out the spektrum altogether.

Ive tried a speky power cap but this only helps a little bit. I was looking at getting an LRP IPC3.1 but it may have the same power delivery problem. Ive got an Orion Vortex servo and regardless of the ESC it still works fine. Anyone got any Ideas why the KO is such a power zapper and how I can get round this? Cheers

My suspicion is the cheap Mtroniks and LRP ESC's aren't pumping out the kahunas required to the receiver to power the high-end servo.

High end ESC's tend to have much stronger BEC outputs so can cope.

Depending on your application, either upgrade the ESC or downgrade the servo.

The 2344 is the high torque servo so it will take more power than a lower torque orion servo.

Hope it helps

Cheers for the replys guys.

Had this servo a few years and only just looked up the specs of this servo (got it in a car I bought 2nd hand) apparently its programable .

PDS-2344FET Digital, 0.13S/60 degrees, 13.0kg torque.

And the Orion:

ORI68001 Vortex Digital Servo VDS-1007 10kg/0.07sec.

Will an LRP IPC3.1 have the BEC power to run this mighty beast?

Never heard of it - do you have a link to some specs?

Also - sounds like the 2344 is more of a nitro/truck servo. I'd be tempted to sell it or switch it to a nitro car, and use something more like the Orion's specs in an electric car.

Ive found the spec for the LRP IPC 3.1 and its a 5v bec so its probably no good.

I think you're right, Ive got a few nitro and petrol cars it can go in so I'll have to get another servo for my Lazer. Cheers for the help guys.
