Post what brushless combo

What are people runnning in there B-Max?

Im looking to upgrade to a brushless system and the losi combos seem good value at around £115.00.

Ive heard that there have been problems with the software is this the case.

Also dont know wether to go for 4.5t or 6.5t they dont do a 5.5t combo.

Is the 4.5 too powerful for bashing and possble club racing.

Any recommendation/advise please.

Hi mate,

If i was you i would stay away from the losi's, i have had nothing but trouble. But some people say there fine.

I run the Novak GTB System, with a 5.5r in my BMAX. Go for this system or either an LRP, also with a 5.5.

Novak System:

Currently not in stock, but marc can get them very quickly.

LRP System:

Also check your gearing when running these, check my setups in this thread as it is listed on there.

Hope this helps,

Ryan

thanks for the advice just confirmed what i thoought about the losi, thats a shame as they are a good price.

Think ill wait for a bit and save the money for a better system like the ones you guys mentioned.

As for the 4.5 t i like the idea of all that extra power just for fun but could the esc be programmed to tame it a bit for racing at club level.

Maybe the 5.5t would be a good compromise.

You can just set your epa a tad lower , also the nosrams got different settings that you can adjust from aggressive to smooth .

Just to play devil's advocate, I'm running the Losi 6.5 combo in a B-Max without issues. The software and/or programming card could be less fiddly admittedly, but once set up you're away.

Now i'm really confused,

Seems 6.5t is about the rite balance from what you guys are saying, seems there are mixed opinions re the Losi system..

Mite try Losi anyway purely from a financial standpoint, the Nosram etc seem very good quality but nearly double the price, i guess you get what you pay for.

As i'm fairly new to this and budget is limited; seems losi is the sensible choice, as mentioned before my only concern is the reliabilty.

Thanks for all your advice.

My self, If finances are an issue - Pick up a good secondhand system, my recomendation is a GTB. I had an excellorin system and had nothing but trouble. My GTB's on the otherhand - (I do have a few) have been faultless. Only problem is the fans seem to always break. But then you don't really need to run one. There are upgrade fans (The name of which slips my mind) which are much more resillient to the odd knock you will get. I've run one GTB with a 6.5 for the best part of two years.

Hi thanks, 2nd hand maybe worth a look.

Ive just been looking on the DMS site and they have an Orion Vortex ESC 100amp for £95.00 plus the motor £75.00, that combo dosnt seem bad, has anyone used these are they any good?

Cost more than the Losi but still less than some of the others out there, mite be better than the losi, the esc looks a lot more compact.
