Ko Propo Esprit IV Repair

Unfortunately my mate dropped his radio and the lcd screen has moved. He cant get to the screen because the rotary wheel on the front is attached to a pcb which covers the screen. I know its a long shot but has anybody managed to remove one of these without damaging the switch?
