Default Lipo Charger

Hi.

I was hoping someone could clear up my confusion. I am new to the hobby and building a Dex210 to just see how I go. I am planning on using these Lipo packs as they look about right for my needs (I Think) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

My confusion is what charger to get. The Lipo state up to 15C of charge but the chargers only state in watts. What would be a safe limit in watts for a charger for these lipos.

I was just going to get a 50w simple charger from hobbyking to start with but unsure whats safe to use.

Cheers

Its the amps you're looking for. Most chargers charge at between 5-7amps, so check for those specs.

A lot of Lipos support quite a high C rating, but to be honest, most people charge at 1C. It still charges fairly quickly and its safer.

Just incase you dont know, 1C is essentially the mAh converted into amps, so the battery you listed would be 4.6amps. A 6,000mAh battery would be 6amps, a 3,500mAh battery would be 3.5amps. I'm sure you get the idea.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the explanation. That makes perfect sense now.
I think i will just go for this basic model then. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

By the looks of it I can adjust the output amps so will be perfect.

Thank you

Just bear in mind you will need a power supply or 12v battery to go with that, Or you could get this one as this is mains and 12v. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ischarger.html
