Losi xcelorin gearing?

What pinion (spur) should i be using on a 4.5 losi motor in a kmc zx5 on carpet. i decided on a 14 tooth pinion and a 76 tooth spur (working from the losi gearing chart) and gave it a run up and down my road for around 5 minutes at all speeds as if i was driving on a track. it came it only just warm so i think i could go up a few teeth.
but what do you lot think would be the best pinion (spur) to run? (as i have no expereince of running on carpet) without it getting to hot and damaging the magnets

lots of experiance out there, but suspect most are running at Worksop right now, so you may have to wait until tomorrow for an answer!!!

Saw a couple of Lazers going rather well and think one of them was an FS, hard to tell as it wasn't upside down very long.... Think it was Bondys car that was going very well, mostly white shell, bits of red. Think the other Lazer in his heat was the FS but I stand to be corrected...
