Default Good/Bad

I'm thinking about getting a Lazer ZX5. Now I need to know if it could hold a BL-motor. Which parts are weak on the car and need to be upgraded? I maybe going to buy a Lazer ZX5 and a MambaMax in the spring. I'm not going to race with it. Just for fun

Weak points:

Shock seals - go for the grooved upgrade part.
Front shock tower mount.
Front wishbone pivot pin brace.
Diff balls.

Apart from that it's a superb car. Very well balanced even with the cells down one side. Plenty of room inside for a BL system.

BL will fit. No problem. Ran mine with an LRP system.

apart from the parts mentioned above, get some extra bevel and diff gears and shim them very thightly, especially if you run on astro or other high grip surfaces. I cracked 2 sets in 2 races and was thinking of putting TC3/BJ4 gears in it.

I had the pre-update ZX5 and the shocktower and shocktowersupport broke like toothpicks.

Anyway, got a bit tired over the ZX5 breaking down all the time and sold it.

Have only ever damaged a spur gear. The diff gears are fine just make sure they are shimmed correctly.

I would recommend an alloy shock tower mount and an atomic carbon front tower to sandwich with the standard kit one. Like i say have only broken a spur. Even when it was used at a christmas fun night to play model car football. (even scored 2 goals)

I think a lot is depending on how you drive it...

I would say its a lot to do with how you build and maintain it.
