Default Reventon Pro ESC Fan

Hi,

I'm new to this and am currently working on getting my Electric 1/10 buggy race ready.

I'm having a problem with the OOTB fan that came with the Reventon Pro ESC. Intermittently the fan will just stop dead, after it stops it twitches a few times and after a while will jump back to life again.

The long pauses mean that the ESC isn't being cooled enough and eventually (after about 7mins run time) the overheat protection kicks in.

Has anyone come across this before as i'm struggling to find a solution at the moment?

Dont hold me to it but i thought i read somewhere that the fan on the reventon range only cuts in when the temp rises.

Doesnt explain why your fan twitches or the esc thermalling tho?

Have you tried another fan on it?

That's what my initial thoughts were. But I ran the car for a few minutes, the ESC was hot (could touch it but you wouldn't want to keep your finger on it), and the fan was completely idol.

I've only got the one fan at the moment, but will probably pick up another in the week.

If you have the ability, reflash the firmware.
There are all sorts of oddities with the rev pro until you can be sure you've got the right firmware! And that it's been installed properly. (But a spare fan is always worth having)

Turns out it was just the fan. Replaced it with the speed passion upgrade fan (http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prods...-SP001130.html) and it now spins like there's no tomorrow.
