Default hobbywing ez run 60a combo

Hi guys and gals, just getting back into the hobby after a decade plus break and have got a losi 22 2.0 for starters with the aforementioned hobbywing combo. My question is is it ok to run the speedo without the fan as with it it doesn't fit under the shell in a mid motor configuration or do I need to rebuild it to rear motor to get a bit more chassis space?

Everything appears to be running fine without the fan without any overheat issues however I did cut a slot out of the top of the windscreen to get some airflow.

it should be fine, I think the speedo has overheat protection from memory. I used to run a very similar setup on mine. The only problem i ever ran into, was running on grass. If too much got wrapped around the driveshafts. It would then overheat and the thermal protection would kick in.

Just dont go crazy on your motor. And dont overdrive it too much on the speedo settings (boost, turbo etc)

Im running mainly on tarmac at the mo as all the grassy/off roady type areas are either way too long or under water, the off road stuff will have to wait til better weather, either that or I break out the lst or e-maxx and scare the locals! If everything was still brushed I wouldnt have had the slightest worry as I know what im doing with that kind of stuff, just brand new to this brushless malarkey, have to say I am impressed though, running 10 teeth bigger on the pinion with a similar sized spur to what I used to run on my old xxcr and xxxke with a 12 double mod, yet to get to full speed as the area I am using is fairly small.
