Rejuvenating old tyres

What's the best way of rejuvenating old Schumacher minipins/staggers?

I've a few sets with plenty of tread left but they have whitened, even though they were stored in airtight containers.

spray on some wd40 evenly and leave to air dry.

Is WD40 ok to use on the rubber?

There used to be a Brian kinwalds product called buggy grip which was used to revive old tyres. It smelt terrible but worked ok. No idea if its still available.

This only works on Schumacher yellow compound but acetone is excellent. It makes them go soft again.

I believe a hairdryer does the trick.

Oil based tyre addative
You can also cut some spikes off new tyres and glue em on ur used ones,

Lamp oil, and a small brush.
Thin coating, leave to dry.

Yes this works a treat! (just done it on some old but unused Schu Yellow Pins)
