Unhappy 501WE pully tensioners

Raced at york tonight and managed to lose the bottom center belt tensioner (forgot to threadlock), Is it worth getting a new one or will it be fine without it? Its gonna be about £15 to replace it, so if it will be 100% fine without it I won't bother.

Cheers.

You did not lose it due to lack of thread lock! It is because it catches the other belt and is worked loose. You can either buy a new one and modify it so there is proper clearance or simply run the car with just the other 2. In the 2 years i have run the cars i have only ever run 2 tensioners for this reason. I never get belt slip and have never worn a belt out! If you really want another one come and see me at a ne regional and you can have the one i dont run!

Agreed, it runs fine without it. Mines never jumped either. You can't see it anyway. Out of sight, out of mind!

Cheers for the advice guys, I think I'll leave it off and see how it goes. When it came loose it rubbed against the slipper and its put a 1/4 mm deep screw head width grove in it so I'm gonne try and polish it out with the dremel, gotta have it looking nice .
