Are Kyosho spurs and pinions meant to be 48dp?
I've just built my new ZX-5 FS and it came with a 17T Kyosho pinion, but it's quite a bit smaller in diameter that my 17T Schumacher 48dp pinions?? It has straighter, less rounded, slimmer teeth somehow. The Schumacher pinions roll around the Kyosho spur ok, but sound a little louder when fitted to a motor and spun by hand (no esc fitted yet). I was going to fit a 21T to my 7.5T motor. I've searched the part numbers for the supplied pinion and spur and they come up as 48P, not dp?? Very strange.......... ![]()

Absolutely ... as Stu said I think the culprit could be the pinion!
