Default Bmax 4-III Shorty Lipo Chassis

Here is my new shorty lipo conversion chassis in carbon fibre.





Allows the motor/slipper pod to be rotated 180 degrees and moved forward. Front and rear propshafts are swapped. Shorty lipo tray allows forward and rearward positions in a similar manner to the saddle lipo trays.

More photos when fitted.

Looking good . I'll wait for the official release myself (which will be in Alu). But a good thing people are already cutting their chassis and designing their own. Lots happening ;-). How much does it weigh?

Drawn up my a friend who had already done most of it for a motor forward conversion with bmax2 front end.
carbon was cut by fibre-lyte.

65.5g for all three pieces, so i expect much lighter than the stock alloy and plastic trays.
I have considered that this lighness low down may affect the CofG and balance of the car over the alloy chassis, and possibly give more flex? we'll see how its performance compares.

if i can source the right alloy i could get it machined on a friends CNC, or just use the carbon as a drill template for my kit chassis. seems to work fine for Naoto.

Bmax2 carbon chassis is 61g as opposed to 112g for the alloy one so will be very similar for the bmax4, almost half the weight of the alloy

I'll weigh the kit alloy chassis when I've stripped it down. about half the weight is probably about right.

The yokomo conversion kit won't be long so i'll probably run this to test myself rather than mass produce them in carbon. I think the alloy maybe better weight balance, and offer less flex, so better for higher grip tracks. You want the extra weight on the low grip tracks, no no real need to change from the kit chassis in that instance.
