Rb5 is a perfectly good car.. i ran mine virtually std for only a few meetings and was impressed by how stable and safe the car was..

A few members who have far more experience on the car than i did ran a weighted brass bulkhead to gain more front grip. There is also the replacement cf shock towers which alter the shock positions on the front too make them inline with that of a b4.. there will be a post on here somewhere.

Im sure someone will pop along later to confirm and give proper advice.

Col.

Put 35/40g of weight in the front, the AC tower for the option of standing the shocks up straight and carbide balls when the kit ones wear.

Like any car you can put ti track rods, alloy hop ups etc on it but I would not class these parts as essential.

Where will you be running it?

The Standard parts that break are: Front hub carriers, Rear arms, Rear chassis plate and Rear shock tower, maybe want a front hinge pin brace aswell cos' these brake instead of the front arms.

There are no particular weak parts on the car, its very srong. I have only broke one hub carrier all year when I had a run in with a metal hoop when driving a bit too close to the hose.

The usual, wishbones, hub carriers, spur gear etc would not go amiss in your spares box though

1 of the problems with the original stock kit is the thread on the rear shockbody is too short. so u can't adjust the knurl nut down as much as u want, to raise the ride height. 2 ways to get around this.
1. simple & popular solution is to use 2 knurl nuts on each shock body
2. get the velvet shock body which has longer threads

as for spares .. don't buy too many otherwise u will end up with UNUSED spares like me. the car is built like a tank.

having said that, the turnbuckles are very weak. u can replace them with the b4 titanium blue ones as they wear/bent. make sure u replace the ball cups too otherwise u will strip the inner thread.
