Default Bury Today. slowly but surely !

Taken on my standard D80, still learning at the moment and still using the kit lens.

"...standard kit..."

I'd be happy if I took these myself and I have a 1DmarkII

RC cars are far from easy to photograph. especially off road as it's harder to prejudge the "Line" that the car will take. Your panning looks OK and the images are sharp.

It's too easy now with the high powered motor drives to take a "cine" of the subject, find the one shot that looks OK, and "lo and behold" you are a fantastic sports photographer.....

Look forward to seeing more of you work.

Nice work Mike, you'll be putting us all to shame with a bit more practice. Reading the exif data it looks like the shots were taking using wider apertures and sometimes boosting the ISO to keep shutter speeds over 1/500" - if this was self-administered and not 'sports mode' I'm even more impressed!

Cheers for the comments
Camera in full manual mode and whilst it was sunny to get faster shutter speeds i had to up the ISO. still struggling with focussing and getting the focus at the right point to pan and shoot and the servo on auto focus isnt fast enough i dont think. but its getting better.
