Default Speed passion reventon R cutting out to half power?

I have speed passion reventon R with speed passion 6.5R It reduced the power to half after 3-4 mins of racing until I switch off / on the esc.. the speed/power is restored.

the esc run on blinky mode Stock0 profile. has thermal off, lipo cut off voltage is 3.2. temp on esc after race is 60 degrees. motor isn't warm. lipo volt after 5 min is around 7.85v no loose connection or anything.

So what wrong with this esc ?

There was another chap struggling with that last night, same symptoms and speedo, we ran it after the final with the thermal protection switched off and it was fine. His speedo was showing 65C when it was cutting out so it looks like it cuts in early.

What's the motor limit for a reventon r?
Pretty sure they state 5.5 with nimh (so ~7.2 volts.) dunno how that equates to a lipo motor limit.

If your lipo's are coming of 7.85v, I would try lowering voltage cut off down to 3v or even off.
It only take's a voltage drop in your lipo's, say while you are hard on power and steering to drop your lipo bellow 6.4v for a nano second, and it will drop into senseless mode.
I do not run S/P so am talking of my experience with Hobbywing.
