Default How to useTrakpower Balancer?

I'm happy using the balancer when charging, but I'm confused how to use the balancer when not charging.

As an example; I purchased a 2nd hand Trakpower LiPo and when I hook it up to the balancer 1 cell is showing 3 lights and the other cell is showing 4 lights.

What do I do to balance the cell?

plug all the connectors in as you would to charge but leave charge end unplugged, the lights will flash and automatiaccly balance the pack, when they all stop flashing its done

So does the button on the balancer have no other function other than setting it so it can be charged through?
