Default Micro setup

Looking for some help for a micro setup!

I really like the look of the Carisma GTB 4WD Belt Drive Buggy, the price seems very fair and the kit looks a good standard.

From research it seems it needs very few initial upgrades, what would you recommend and where from?

Electrics... I'll need full electrics, ESC, motor, servo, lipos.

What do you recommend? Does sensored / sensorless make a big difference?

Hoping to keep it all within a budget of around £200-£250 for everything, is this achievable?

Yes quite achievable. Biggest expense would be a top line servo @£45.
Speedo can be had for 25-30£, lipos £15, and normal motor is okay at £25.

The kit is very good as is, but there are quite a few performance upgrades which do make some very nice improvements to performance and durability.

The ones i run
Alloy motor mount - £30, ish
CVD's £20 a pair
Thumbs design carbon shock towers £20
Thumbs design diff balls, £cant remember
thumbs design weight kit £32

Its a lot to buy upfront, but i have quite enjoyed making gradual changes over 6 months, has helped my appreciate the little differences.

All parts from trackside spares.

Well trackside, HK and of course oOple have sorted me out.

I've bought the following;

Carisma GTB
Ezrun 60amp esc
Team 5700kv motor
Wheels, Tyres + inserts
Couple option parts
x2 2200mah lipos
a used Savox 1257 servo

Went slightly over my initial budget costing £262, mainly because i got the 60 amp esc and team motor over the lower alternatives.

deffo the ezrun 60 esc,
i use standard losi mini 8ight motor,
i use the futaba s9650 servo with a slight adjustment moving it forward on the chassis,

this would be an upgrade to consider, stops slipper gears stripping,

http://thumbsdesigns.com/product/gtb...e-stage-2-pack

the cvd's are a must and replace the pins in them with these,

http://thumbsdesigns.com/product/gtb-solid-cvd-pins

while your waiting for the pins to come put an extra grub screw in the cvd's, there are 2 threaded holes but only one has a grub screw in it,

if the original pin snaps it drops out causing the dog bone part of the cvd to move towards the diff meaning the barrel containing the grub screw has enough room to drop out and then you have to replace the whole cvd as no rebuild kits are available to buy,
by sticking an extra grub screw in your cvd's your clamping the pin between 2 grub screws and it stops the pin dropping out even if it does snap and then you dont lose the barrel containing the grub screw which would make your cvd useless.

would also seriously consider Craig's weight kit too.
