Default futaba s9650 servo help

Hi,
I have a futaba 9650 servo for my micro that needed a new case so I took it apart which you have to do by prising 2 clips apart holding the potentiometer in place,

Anyhow I took pics of the gears before I took it apart and on putting everything back together i'm buggered if I can get it to go back together properly, even if I use the pics as a guide to where the gears go.

They are being put back in the correct order as I'm not that stupid plus I have a metal gear set with instructions of the whereabouts and order of the gears,

I get the gears doing either a grinding as if there stuck noise or it while holding it very tight tries to twist the housing,

The potentiometer seems to change the direction of the motor but finding neutral to stop the motor must be on a minute ( very small scale) as it's very hard to find and keep it there.

Is there an easy way to put a servo back together as I spent 2 hellish hours trying last night and if it wasn't a good servo in the past I'd have ran over it with my car by now,
Damn you servo. :-)
