Default Speed passion reventon bluetooth module

Hi
Has anyone tried these?
Can you change firmware and settings easily with them?
Do they work ok on android?

Taken from the link you posted...

Easily update, adjust and program your Speed Passion Reventon ESC using this Bluetooth module. The Bluetooth module is designed to be used with Android devices using version 2.2 to 3.0.
I would imagine that firmware (on either module or esc) will still need a PC or laptop to change.

As far as the modules go, Bluetooth = Android, WiFi = iOS.
Once paired you can update firmware or settings easily (no PC required) takes about 30-45 seconds to do the firmware.
Range for bluetooth is about 5m.
(I can stop the car in the pits, connect, update, disconnect, back on the track, in under a minute, good for practice. The car stops as soon as you connect. Can also check temperatures/battery status via the module. Which is nice.)

Once you've got settings sorted, you may as well just take the bluetooth module out, as it's just something else to get knocked out of position/damaged/fail during racing. It's also quite an awkward shape to fit into the car.

Its worth having a PC as well, cos sometimes you like to use the programming box/USB etc. But you don't actually need it.
I'm running the reventon software on a galaxy SII, HTC one and a Galaxy Note. So it runs on all androids up to (and including) 4.3.

Put it this way, i bought it as an experiment, as i got a reventon pro combo on a good deal.
Its turned out to be useful enough that i could quite possibly see myself sticking to reventon pros from here on in. Or at least, stick to ESCs which will talk to a bluetooth/wireless device.
(Not going to happen quite yet as i have two perfectly serviceable and expensive other ESCs still in use, but if/when i replace them!)

Thread revival....

It says on the Speed Passion website that you can't use the wifi adaptor with IOS 7, is this still true?

Thanks
