In my limited knowedge as a new racer and going from a 60 to a 120 yes should be cooler cos i think the esc has a larger range of power out and can draw more amps for longer periods so theoretically should be cooler.
Gearing is one thing that i think will effect it. Someone correct me if im wrong !
