Hi.
Decided to give my Rc10 parts box a look at and start building 2 cars. I have 2 chasis 1, tub in blue, gold under but has a A stamped on it. Looked into it and i think its a old chassis, anybody know more?. Also other chassis is a carbon one but flat, with AE carver into it, don't know anything about this one. I will upload some pics later but info much appreciated Thanks

Hi,
The gold tube should be from an Edinger chassis (first RC10 generation). The first production of the RC10 was manufactured at 1928 East Edinger Ave in Santa Ana California (Hence the name Edinger). Later produced RC10 cars at 3585 Cadillac Ave Costa Mesa California.... The very first chassis had no stamp on it. Then the first Edinger A stamp chassis had the A on the bottom, later was changed to the top. Original AE carbon chassis should not be flat at all, should have a "kick up nose" on the front? Cheers, Daniel |

The anodizing can vary from one part to another.
AE brought later colored chassis parts. if I'm not mistaken, there was also red... First came the RC10 Graphite (kit 6025 with bushings, kit 6030 with bearings), later the RC10 Team Car Graphite, kit 6036. However, the chassis plate to both should be identical. |

A red nose is likely a Hot Trick piece. They also made a "wide" nose that was popular. Does the aluminum nose seem wider than your carbon chassis?
There were no advantages to a standard narrow Hot Trick nose so it could be that they damaged the original and just replaced it. As far as the chassis, "A" stamp can be a Edinger or Cadillac, but a pale gold (usually called a champaign) would narrow it to Edinger. The gold changed a lot over the years, the "B" stamp and especially "C" stamp got much more orange |

This is the Hot Trick wide nose, notice the "wings"?
