Default Newbie looking for some advise

Hope I've posted this in the right place, I'm looking to get into touring car racing. I found a club that's pretty local (Doncaster touring car club) and popped down on Friday to see what it was all about seemed to be a good atmosphere the guys down there are really friendly. So my question is what would be a good starter car to get to have a go preferably something that won't break the bank?

Thanks in advance for any help, Shaun.

Hi Shaun,

Hope this helps. Im new to touring cars myself, mainly got there for my eldest son, but i'd say either schumacher or Xray would be a safe bet, but check at the club see what people are racing plus if they got an onsite shop what they stock.
The main reason for this is for help and support from the other racers with help in setup and what works beston the track.
And the cars they race is norm what spares the shop stocks, either that or the other racers keep the commonly broken parts in there pit box's. Most people will be glad to help you with spares so you can finish off your evenings racing and replace the parts the next meet.
The other thing is buy second hand to start as believe me you will be bouncing off things for a good while. Again ask the other racers if anybody in the club is selling or upgrading, as there are quite a few Schumacher Mi4 CX's and CXL's where people are upgrading to the Mi5. Plus if you can see it in your hand its better than buying blind from the bay.

Anyway i hope this helps and enjoy your racing.

Shiny

Yep as said above, look at what is ran at the club and sometimes they will have cars for sale, otherwise check on the sale threads here and on ebay

There are some cheap kits that are good for the money including the Turnigy sold through hobbyking (a rebadged Sakura S) but ask at the club and see what they recommend.
