Tyre Compound Query

Hi All,

Was looking for some information/advice on Schumacher tyre compounds

I see that Silver compound is softer than Yellow compound on Schumacher's website, detailing that they are for slippery surfaces.

I was wondering how they work out if used for slippery indoor wooden floors? If they are a softer, tackier compound, then they should work better than the Yellows, is this the case?

Or is the compound make up unsuitable? Has anyone tried them to see? Is the wear rate just way too excessive?

the rate of wear due to the softer compound would be far too excessive unless there was zero carpet

Ballistic buggy whites offer similar grip levels to yellow mini spikes but with far less wear

I have tried them and they where terrible we used super soft foams in the silver tires and I'm not sure if it's the combination of using them both together but they do not grip at seaham
They may work in other combinations though

They do work very well on some astro tracks when the track is wet and slippery.

I'm sure loads of people have tried various different compounds and brand combos over the years but it always seems to be the Schumacher "yellow" compound,be it spike or pin that works best on multi surface (gym,carpet,wood etc) indoor tracks we race on over the winter...

Just have a look what most of the people are using at the clubs you race at I'm sure you won't be far wrong using what majority use

I've seen elsewhere that the tackiness of the silver compound simply allows any fine dust on a dirty, dry track to stick to it and this makes them lose all grip. So unless the polished floor is swept very clean they aren't much use.

The yellow doesn't do this, but is still soft enough to generate grip on low grip surfaces, so I guess this is what makes it a great all rounder

Does anyone know about the block type schumacher tyre? I would gues that the edge of the blocks gives it more grip, but less forgiving than the rounded mini or full spike? Not sure how much they flex to aid grip generation though on low grip track, or if the edge componsates for this.
