Default 2.4GHz Surface & Air Receivers

Correct me if I wrong but I believe they can't be mixed and matched, just like when folk used crystals they had 35mhz for air and 27/40mhz for surface.

IE can't use 2.4GHz surface transmitter with air receiver.

If I'm correct can you link to some info please.

Asking because a it's cropped up on a FB group and needs clarifying

I have the answer but no link to details

Just phoned Horizon Hobby UK who import Spektrum. Surface and Air receivers ARE NOT compatible. They may be both 2.4Ghz but the way they 'electronically' talk to each other is different. It's on their web site but at the moment I can't find it.

As you say Glenn spektrum air/surface systems are not compatable . I'm not sure that futaba have distinguished the difference , a lot of car racers on futaba land stuff use the frsky Fasst rx's with 3GR/3vc/4PK tx and they are quite happy in my aeroplanes using my FF9 air transmitter and futaba fasst module

probably opening a can of worms here

regards dave
