Default Team Durango DEX410v4 announced

Team Durango are very excited to announce the upcoming release of the next generation of the DEX410 competition level 4WD electric racing Buggy.

The DEX410v4 represents the next evolution of the platform that has already added an IFMAR World title, a European title, multiple National titles, a TQ at the 2013 IFMAR Worlds and a Reedy Race win, to its global success. Both dedicated club racers and Pro Team Durango drivers have found success with the DEX410 platform on a wide range of track surfaces.

With 15 improvements to the already proven pedigree of the DEX410 platform, Team Durango presents a top-level 4WD racing Buggy that maintains the rich heritage of the globally recognised platform, whilst providing the most up-to-date design developments.

The DEX410v4 is currently in production, and many distributors will be taking orders under the new kit part number TD102030.

Stay tuned for more details and exclusive images very soon.

They don't function for the record. We have wind tunnel tested a few and rather than giving you more front end downforce which is what some manufactures claim, they actually give you more rear downforce with cleaner access to the wing

Cab forward shells are like the Emperor's new clothes. Something must be done. Please save us from ugly shells.

so no change to the front downforce at all? Or improved downforce throughout?

All I know is a lad at our club fitted a bulldog and is regularly making A finals without any other changes apart from the shell. That's got to be a bonus.

They seem to be like wings on touring cars. I've seen people try calculating the difference and turns out to be next to nothing, but they're un drivable without. Same goes for cab forward it seems, I went from the finisher on my 210 wth an alloy +8mm chassis to the durango one, which puts the cab almost an inch further forward, and the durango one is definitly better, I'm all for them if they look good, a lot of bulldog bodies and the JC finnisher for the 410, not so much

Even if you win 0.1sec/lap, the imaging section of my brain gets overloaded after 3 secs looking at those recent cab forward bodies, which poses a bit of a problem when racing.

Well, it could worse I suppose. K1 worse.

Default New moulded gear set?

Has anyone tried the new moulded cross shaft and gear set(TD310290), in his current dex410 and/or have some recoments to them?

I'm looking forward to this and would like to give them a try!
Nothing wrong with the metal ones, just to try....

Having had a good look through the V4 parts list on Tower Hobbies website you can get a pretty good idea of the 15 improvements.

Definitely evolution rather than revolution by the looks of it...

http://www.towerhobbies.com/products.../tdrc0122.html

I'm particularly excited by the new larger body clips

Yes, i had also a look at the tower hobbys website a few days ago and thought the same!

And Ryan Lutz wrote that on the rctech forum, because of some discussions about the new v4!

"Just to chime in although i'm a little late here. The V4 is the V3 with some nice refinements. The car that was ran at the Worlds was a test mule vehicle. It was wide as noticed and allowed for multiple battery and motor positions and it's purpose is figuring out future iterations. It may still be used during testing by the team here and there to help further progress the DEX410 platform. For now though as has been alluded to, the V4 is much more like the V3 and it's still great and now even better."

My thoughts of new parts!?

TD230036 suspension arm set: rear Type B
TD230037 suspension arm set: front Type B
TD310290 molded cross shaft and gear set (3 diffs)
TD310422 UJ front (1 pair)
TD310423 UJ rear (1 pair)
TD310426 UJ mid-front
TD330591 DIMEC X ball end set
TD330601 2mm hex ball M3x10mm (4 pcs)
TD330602 2mm hex ball M3x7mm (4 pcs)
TD402030 DEX420 cab Forward body set (+decals)
TD310458 gear box set: front&rear (hard)
TD330590 BB shock piston set (spec b)

New o-Rings

+ some new Type B plastic parts maybe....
