schools not an issue as my drop off needs to be there for approx 6am which means setting of @ 3am ish as her indoors booked a 12 seater that's limited to 62mph

Yeah go clockwise, you can cut the corner through Rochdale but it's hardly worth it.

Round the bottom is quicker any time of day. Just watch out for the 50mph limit just before Stockport, it has SPECS average speed cameras on that bend. Definitely worth observing the limit, I took 4 feet off the length of my car on that bend.

Yup. Only doing 70mph, lost the back end, counter steered then the rear gripped. Flung me head on into the concrete wall, then two full revolutions taking the rear end off as well in the process. You can still see the marks in the concrete wall on the outside under the first bridge.
The 50mph limit is impossible to miss though, there's a big flashing sign next to the motorway.

Well I'm back in one piece

To dark @ 4:00 to see were your little shunt was

Did see a large crane, 8 to 10 wheeler on it's side on the west bound M62 though. Looks like it may have rode the embankment and rolled onto it's side. Spotted to guys next to it pulling the cables from the m'way. Probably caused some havoc with the morning rush hour traffic
