Default Vintage Yokomo Touring car YR4's

Hi new to the forum and only found out about it after looking for vintage Schumachers which I used to race as a youngster in the late 80's and early 90's.

I raced a freshly built Topcat which eventually was converted to a Cougar which I raced for some time. The last car I had back then was when I converted to 4WD which was a second hand Yokomo Dogfighter (one before YZ10) which I loved but when I grew out of racing I sold the Yokomo for very little money. A year or so back I got chatting to a fellow sprint racer (1:1 scale) and suggested we bought some old RC cars and set them up for doing some car park drifting for fun. He bought Tamiya TA 01 type chassis and I bought two second hand cars, one being a HPI sprint and the other a short wheelbase Yokomo YR4 II which was not complete

This was the two cars, the Yokomo being the one behing. It was missing the top deck, bumper and a few other things too. I sourced lots of parts on ebay and managed to get it like this

The car was taking shape with a period (ish) receiver and Novak ESC, I already had my old Attack R from my old racing days and a few servos.

Something I was missing was a body for it, nothing was available that directly fit so after asking around I was told the M chassis Tamiya bodies fitted so I chose the RX7 FB

I wanted to paint it like a famous 1:1 scale car from America

And with all stickers on

I then aquired a long wheelbase version which I plan to drift properly once it's finished

And also by the same person, got a brand new YR4 compact, in the box with just some steering links missing.

The car is built now so I will get some pictures taken and put up here ASAP.

I hope you like and I plan to linger around here as I am going to get a vintage Cougar 1/2 from my brother and re-live some RC racing at my local track very soon

Cheers

I have a couple second hand YR-4s and they are fun once you fit some toe-in axle carriers on the rear. I don't have a compact and looking at yours I really regret that.
