Question Help, hard to choose which buggy...

Hello everyone.

I'm looking to pick up my old interest in 1/8 nitro buggy, the idea is to start racing again so I am looking for a winning buggy. :) But I have a little difficult to decide which buggy to buy, there are a lot of different brands. ^ ^
First I checked on Kyosho MP9 tki3 but I feel that it would be fun to try another brand because I drove a kyosho before.

I started to look at JQ Products yellow edition, and it seems like a good buggy. But when I read in various forums, it seemed like agama A8 EVO would be a better buy, sure I like the A8 EVO's body. :)
But having checked around on the internet I got stuck for two other buggies.
Hot bodies D812 & RB RB Products One R.

I hope someone here can help me, I have a hard time choosing.

which of these would be the best buy?
Whats good and bad?

RB RB Products One R
Hot bodies D812
JQ Products "THE Car" Pre-Season Value Kit (Yellow Edition)
Agama Racing A8 EVO

Thanks // Martin

The new mugen mbx7 is an amazing car. Well worth considering!
Www.l-m-racing.co.uk should have stock and all the spares etc you'll ever need.

What is easiest to get spares for where you are ?

Do any of the manufacturers have support trucks at your local track ?

Maybe those would be useful things to bear in mind ? Or what are other people running where you will be racing ?

Clearly as you used to do it you are experienced and can set it up yourself but sometimes useful to be running what others are running for set ups and spares...

And personally... I have an Agama so I'd go with that !

Thanks
Easiest to get spares from is the internet, there is no local shop here.
What that runs most here is kyosho.
Do not think there is any support trucks, but I will check it out. ^ ^

Thank you again!

It makes sense to go with the most popular car, espiecially when there is little or no support from local shops.

I have had quite a few cars over the last few years (Mugen, Losi, Agama, Durango and now Kyosho).
For me the kyosho does everything well:
-Durable (I have broken 1 front wishbone and 1 wishbone hanger in 20litres of fuel)
-Easy to work on
-Very wide setup window
-Very good performance, you are not fighting the car and so is easy to drive quickly. I still think I was faster with the MBX6, but made too many mistakes, with the MP9 I am much more consistent and once I am more familiar with the kyosho, will be quicker.

I agree with Chris,

The Mp9 is top of the list, it ticks all the box's except the price!

I recently bought a Mugen MBX7 and my first race with it was my best ever result at Slough! no damages, and won 2 finals with it. Superb handling and seems very very consistent.

I would go for a Mp9 TKI2/TKI3 or the Mugen mbx7. Both are fantastic cars, and the most popular choices.

Have checked with my local club now, have completely mistaken on the brand that was popular there. It is most Mugen that rolls on the track.

I've more or less decided Mugen MBX-7 but have little hard to let go of JQ Yellow edition. It is supposed to have many setup possibilities.
I have seen that JQ yellow... are rolling on the big races so it is perhaps no bad choice either.
If I do not care what's popular to run here, is mbx-7 still a better choice?

The Mugen's and Kyosho's are meant to be the strongest 8th cars there are. I don't think you'll have any problems if you buy a Mugen, everyone I know with them loves them !

You would not be dissapointed in the JQ car it is a nice bit of kit robust and the new optional yelow kit is well worth a look at it This comes wit hthe standard chassis as you get wit hyellow kit plus the all new wider chassis and option parts;

At the moment i am running the new chassis with option partsand the improvement this has made not only to the car but my driving and overall results are brillant and a fantastic improvement for myself;

Part for the JQ are very easy to get hold of as you have the main distrubuter based here in the U.K;

http://www.gbmodelsport.co.uk/contactus.php

Also have which are based in Sweden;

Swedish Edition Trading AB
Stensätravägen 9 A 2tr

So either way parts would not be a problem and having the option yellow edition this way you have 2 chassis so alot of work you can do on the 2 chassis and get the best from both ;
