Default Short course

Well had a go on Chris "Ironman" short course truck today and watched it going around. Loads of silly fun....

Question is what do people think about different ones. Most of the ones I have come across are all RTR...

I have a spare ESC, motor and would need a servo/rec and so far you guys have been awesome help.

Cheers

Firstly, do not get a 4wd! Most have 2wd and if you want some good close racing, go 2wd, 4wd is just too easy and way quicker.

People use Ansmann, Losi, HPI and Associated. Any thing is just as good tbh, better brand/price equals stronger, which is important

Truck night coming up soon!

Dudders is right about little between brands except for one thing - the 22 SCT is built like the 22 ie its pretty damn robust. They really are and they are quick.

I do know that several others do have certain weak spots shall I say

Traxxas slash has got to be the best for me! had it for 6 years or so now and the only thing that ive done is strip a wheel hex and break a little plastic bit on the front and thats from serious bashing! (converted almost everything from traxxas to racier tyoe stuff but the bumpers are the same ) its designed more for bashing... if your going to be doing alot of that but for racing it is alright but would recomend getting a low centre of gravity chassis which is probably going to end up being way more expensive than going for the ansmann for instance which i think is you can get as a roller? but then you could throw your electrics in and get cheapish other electics which you need and your good to go! if its not have a talk to apex models or a local model shop and they will help.. but dont think anyone at shrccc has the same model but still make a damn close race!

Default 4wd 2wd.

???? I have a 4wd and its not much different in laptimes etc as a 2wd, so either is fine.

there just as good as each other. and nationally both are raced and at club level it makes no difference which you run.

Personally I just prefer the 4wd feel. in buggies and SC, and as the laptimes show. on many tracks(SHRCCC for one) there is little/no difference or advantage/disadvantage in either.

some tracks actually favour 2wd so make you OWN mind up what wheels drive and go for what you feel.

Default haha

actually totally disagree, 4wd is much better.

But just sold mine so no matter.

I prefer 4wd in all off rd racing, but that's personal choice.

don't be a hater, be a racer!

I agree - when is the next one AND is it going to be a race or destruction derby?

I am actually hoping for a race

I'll plan it, and yes, SC Trucks will now have the same rules and ethos as the buggies. A little nerfing WILL be tolerate but corner cutting and blatant high speed crashes and take outs will not be tolerate.

I just need to tell myself that now.....
