Post Looking for Kyosho Turbo Optima Parts

Hi,

I just got a Turbo Optima chassis and is missing the following:

1)Chassis protector/bottom skid plate.
2)Correct Le Mans 240S motor. It currently has a good condition Le Mans 240SB.
3)Front bumper.
4)Stabilizer bars, front and rear.

Any help would be appreciated!

Myles on ebay (Vintage-Kyosho) has the stabilizer set.

The most challenging of those parts to find will no doubt be the front bar (well, a new one anyway).

Just keep an eye on ebay and eventually you'll find what you're looking for, or you could try placing a wanted add in the trader section.

Thank's Keith!!!
I'll go ahead an order the stabilizers.
The front bumper does not have to be new, good used condition will do.

Do you guys think I should keep the Le Mans 240SB or go with the factory look?
The SB does have a machined end bell...

Hi Nick,
Actually I dont have the buggy with me yet, I bought it thru ebay and the motor pics looked fine. I have to wait until it arrives to be 100% sure of motor's condition.
The plan with this buggy is restoring it to it's best factory condition, but I have to say that I am tempted to give it the "celebration treatment" like Naushad did.

Well no probs, let me know if you want the 240S on maybe a part-ex.
Including postage the motor cost me £69.00

Cheers
Nick

Cool

Well, I got ahold of yet another Optima. This last one has all the missing parts, only thing missing is the motor which Nick already offered me one.
As soon as I get them(got them from ebay) I'll start my own KTO restore project. It won't have all new parts as the word "restore" implies, but it will be "restored" to a good high quality used shelf queen.

It will have new body set with decals, electronics(not necessarily vintage) with stock MSC, wheels if needed(possibly aluminum) which I just hope that the ones comming with the buggy are really trashed to "justify" the aluminum ones, and tires(repro).
Naushad's project inspired me, so I am also seriously concidering giving the buggy the "celebration treatment".
I already have a used set of rail guards that need re-anodizing so most probabbly will gold anodize everything else:chassis, shocks, motor guard, protector,etc..
I'll keep the fans posted

Well people guess what..... I got ahold of yet another Turbo Optima!!! This just might be getting out of hand....

Anyways I scored a Turbo Optima with celebration chassis that has never been run with side guards and motor guard.
It does have a poorly cut body(missing rear part), fiberglass top deck in very poor shape(owner cut it to accomodate additional cells that seems to never got around since the buggy never ran), no wheels nor tires, but everything else is top notch, almost NIB.
Now the plan is to sell the two other Turbo Optima's to get funds for the wheels, tires and new body.

Nick, any chance you might exchange the 240S for the used 240SB + some cash?
