Chris, it was a great night (and practice too).

Everyone had huge grins on their faces. It was good to see.

Niall was quickest with his Losi 22. He did 18 laps, so that's what we are all chasing now.

Huge thanks to Greg for running race control. By the sound of it he'll be on the track with us by next week.

I took a few rubbish photos, but I know others took some better ones.

Amazing racing!

Everyone I spoke to said they enjoyed themselves and enjoyed the venue so very positive feedback!

I will hopefully do a couple of videos during the next meeting :-)

Roll on next week!

I think there were 18 racers.

We had 4 heats, 2 for 2WD and 2 for 4WD.

Lee you need to come over and give Niall some competition

I believe we have 10 more people already booked for next week.

That's really good numbers for a first meeting
I will PM you my details later for booking in for next Saturday
What timing system are you using, is it the same as Ribble Valley
If so maybe you could look at doing the online entry...ask Eric how it all works

Lawrence,
Nice to see you're separating the two categories, is your track wider than Ribble? If it is I'll struggle to hold Niall back to say he was only running a 10.5t motor it was quick down the straight.

Have you also thought about running a heat for trucks as well maybe
So what was the format on Saturday 3 heats and a final
Were you running 4 or 5 minute heats

Lee, it's some of that crazy Touring Car magic. Who knows what he did to it?

The track is about the same width as Ribble. A little wider in places, particularly in the corners. As a whole it's one carpet width wider.

I'm sure we could do a truck heat if there was enough interest. Do you need a bit more room for them?

We ran 3, 5 minute heats and then a final.

The timing sytem is the same as Ribble as far as I know. Not the new version 4. Someone mentioned the online system. We'll have to look into it.

Lawrence

Just to confirm a couple of things blackpools track is the same lenght as ribble but It is on whole roll of carpet wider giving plenty of overtaking spots which makes for some close and exciting racing!

The timing system is the same as ribbles and we can acomidate any transponder or no transponder racers.

We ran 3 qualifying heats and 1 final but if we had the interest and more importantly time we could run a 2 leg final ie 2 finals and you add both results together to get your overall finishing postion in your final.

Personally i think this is quite a good way of running things as if you mess up your first final or get unlucky with tangles on track etc you have a second shot of redeeming yourself in the second final.

As far as trucks im sure we could put a heat on if we had the numbers ie about 5-8 for a heat :-)

Touring car magic :-D love it lawrence!

Thumbs up

It was a great opening event and the track is great fun with good jumps and other obstacles - the wall climb at the end of the main straight is a really fun challenge.

The whole day was a credit to the hard work of all those involved, it's a great venue with a good setup which I'm looking forward to attending again.

Everyone is using Schumacher yellow mini pins. With a few running cut staggers up front on the 2WD's.

We had one person trying foams during practice last night, and had similar lap times to the mini pins.

We are expecting a few more people to come this week who use foams.
