Depends what track length and if its tight/open, surface, weather, tyres, temperature, how fast you want to go etc etc... also depends on speedo settings.

For that wind get 23T, 24T and 25T pinions and you should be good for most circumstances... I use 22/23 on a 8.5T with mild boost, 21/22 on 6.5T with lower boost

Sometimes it is advised to use the manual suggestions loosely on gearing as the advice will be based on running on Clay/Dirt tracks and higher ambient temperatures so on some cars it can be way out to gearing for higher bite UK tracks

TLR wouldn't have written it if it wasn't correct - and that's the whole point of a "base stock setting," to get you in the ballpark and then you adjust from there based on the track you're running (just like everybody else does).

And that's why you ask at the track, of your adversaries - and not somebody else's.

Has anybody already tried to get the motor as far back as possible in a mid motor buy using a smaller spur gear?

Witch spur/pinion motor combo did you use?

Good question, I was thinking about that recently. Sadly, I am doing the opposite really... I have a 78 tooth spur :-/

Then again, I really don't know if 1 or 2 mm would really make much of a difference.
