hey guys
im a noob here.. ive gotten some 26650 cells, A123 ones. i dont have a battery tab welder and they are expensive anyone have any recommendations on how i could get my tabs welded onto them so i can put the cells in series? cheers |

Tape/heatshrink the cells in the correct shape, sand down both ends. Tin both ends and then solder together with tinned solid copper wire or fuse wire.

I have soldered directly to these type of cells with an old Wasp 40watt soldering iron, but like soldering all cells you need to be quick.

where can i get them battery bars in the youtube video??
most people recommend using a 200w iron can anyone show me a cheap but good enough one? ive tried soldering them with my 60w iron, but the solder wont stick |

Soldering directly to a Lithium ion cell is not recommended. You can easily melt the separator by doing this and cause an internal cell short. Cells should be terminated using proper tab material welded to them using a proper battery welder. This is why manufacturers of Lithium Ion cells do not sell cells to the general public.. they don't have the proper kit to assemble them into batteries.
